Cat: Origins
There no memory’s when he first woke up. Those came later, as his body adjusted and settled. Thinking back on it he liked to muse that it was because he had been reborn, new body, new life. When he awoke he was unaware of everything except a basic need to keep moving, to get away, to be safe.
The night sky was black and featureless and it was beginning to rain, but it didn’t matter, he was already soaking wet and cold, he was laid face down in the mud that lined the side of the river. His legs and tail dangled half in the water; he could feel the powerful currents tugging at him gently trying to pull him back in. He was breathing hard; he was tired, drained to be exact. With tremendous effort he reached out to grab some of the long grass that lined the bank in order to pull himself up and fully out of the water. He grabbed large clumps in his hands but as soon as he exerted any pressure on them they broke, sending him sliding a little bit further into the icy water. He growled loudly as his fight or flight reflex kicked in enabling him to extend his retractable claws. Giving it one last effort he dug them into the ground and pulled himself free of the water. Crawling away from the churning river he collapsed on the soft grass, with one last effort he turned himself over onto his back, his short fur was matted with mud. He stared up at the clouds, panting heavily. Unable to move anymore he let the rain wash over his exhausted body, his left ear occasionally twitched as the rain tickled it, but he didn't care.
In the distance, over the sound of the churning river and the falling rain he could hear the sound of faint sirens, lots of them. Although at the time he had no idea what a siren was, it filled him with dread. He wanted to run, to get away, to keep moving, but he couldn't anymore. His exhaustion was overwhelming crashing against him like waves, pulling at him like the currents of the river and try as he might he couldn't fight it. As he fell into a deep sleep, lying there in the cold as the rain beat down on him; one thought rang through his mind.

Who am I?
I have been toying with the idea lately of writing a superhero story, in addition to what I already write.

To Blog or not to Blog. That may be the most important question facing our generation today. If I do not blog do I even exist?
